This is a Lionel 249E Vintage O 2-4-2 Tinplate Steam Locomotive w/ 265W Tender from 1936-39. The locomotive features metal construction, a motor, a reverse unit, an operating headlight, a smoke stack, a decorative bell, metal side rods, metal wheels and exquisite detail. The tender features tinplate construction, a box coupler, tinplate trucks with black journals, metal wheels and axles.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good based on visual appearance. There are heavy nicks, scratches, and signs of surface rust present on both the locomotive and tender. Heavier corrosion is visible on the headlamp housing. Bodies of both items also show paint wear, paint chips, and abrasions throughout their surfaces. The overall appearance of these items may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. When tested, locomotive runs well in both directions. However the tender whistle is very raspy.
